Bjorn Ojard stepped down as Council President after serving for 6 years. Thank you, Bjorn, for all the time and effort you put in during your term. He got a lot accomplished during his term and guided us excellently during the very challenging Covid-19 pandemic.
Helene Hedlund was elected to serve as Council President.
Hannah Weishaar was hired as our custodian.
KRLC won the Holy Cow award for world hunger within our Synod.
Our Mountain dulcimer group started up with 8 participants. Sticks and Strings and Seraphim started up again.
Summer picnics were well attended and much enjoyed with lots of good energy, including a few indoor picnics during colder months. Music jam sessions were held after picnics.
The Council established a building/kitchen use policy and a sexual misconduct policy, worked on by-law updates, and started meeting bi-monthly rather than quarterly.
KRLC received six new members.
Dani Mattson was hired to do "Children's Time" over the summer.
Sound tiles were installed in the lower level, helping reduce noise levels significantly.
First aid/CPR training was held and well attended.
VBS was held monthly on the evening of the monthly picnics.
Started up Children's Church, Kid's Connect and confirmation, with two young folks completing confirmation.
Fall Fun Fest was held in September, raising money for ????? and Scandinavian Meatball dinner was served in October.
2022 Getting our Mojo Back
Covid-19 moved from pandemic into endemic, allowing our church family to be together more and returning to past activities. Our Sunday in-person worship averaged 22 people in January and 61 people in December!
Over the year we were slowly able to start back up with coffee fellowship, remove our masks, return to musical activities and children's education programming. A welcome and stunning return to a new normal!
We continued virtual meetings such as Lectio Divina and W/ELCA until spring when we started back in person.
KRLC won the LSS Servant of Christ award for all of our social outreach efforts.
Summer worship services were held outdoors in our garden and were very well attended. Our Tech team worked through new challenges with outdoor streaming.
Church picnics were held monthly during the summer, providing a great opportunity to connect with others in the community.
Two young women were confirmed and 11 new members were received.
Scandinavian meatball dinner was served in the fall.
Lenten study was held both in person and virtually.
We initiated a group to evaluate the future of our memorial garden and other landscaping issues.
Food safety classes were offered and well attended.
Randi and Lawrence were married and Carol Carlson returned as our primary church musician.
We utilized a custodial service for most of the year, but that was discontinued in the fall and volunteers stepped up while we considered options.
Sam Black stepped down as our bell choir director. The bell choir continued as self-directed and LeeAnn Olson started a group of new ringers.
